Challenge: “I am” Statements

Standard

What if I told you that I have been doing this challenge and the results have been amazing. Would you do this challenge with me and share your results? I hope that you will.

Over the last 2 weeks I have used “I am” statements to help me overcome to major hurdles in my life. I quit smoking and taking ADD medication that I have taken for a very long time. Both of those things were not easy. Smoking surprisingly was a lot easier than not taking the medication. It seems that I had really become physically dependent on the medication, but it was at first very difficult to motivate myself to do anything without the medication. Anyway, I am past that now, but I am using “I am” statements, as affirmations to keep myself on track.

So, here is how it works. Pick some thing or things that you want to change. For me it started with the medication. When I first ran out of my medication and decided not to refill my prescription I had horrible anxiety. I thought over and over, “I can’t do it”, “I won’t be able to get anything done”, “I won’t physically have the energy to get out of bed”, and on and on. Then one day I decided to try a different approach. I decided to try saying instead what I wanted to be, “I am full of energy”, “I am motivated”, “I am completing tasks”.

I could not believe it, but every time I started to feel unmotivated or tired I would repeat these things and I suddenly got energy and started completing tasks. It was amazing. It was working so well I decided to do it with smoking and that worked too!!! So, I am going to continue to do this every day for the next 2 weeks and I am going to post everyday.

I invite you to do the challenge with me. Actually, I BEG you to do it with me. Post your results with me everyday. It will be fun and a great learning experience!!! So, starting tomorrow I am going to post my “I am” statement affirmations and my experience with them through out the day. I can not wait to share this with you!
